Yesterday, my boyfriend took me to a nature park with a lovely driftwood beach. Although it wasn’t quite the sea I consider the Chesapeake Bay the closest body of water I have to the ocean while I’m living in Annapolis, and I could feel the entire beach buzz with energy. I have always been a natural swimmer, ever since my mother threw me into a pool at 6 months with just a pair of arm floats, and I feel more at home in the water than anything else. Isis is a Goddess of the Moon and Sea; although I am a King of Wands and a natural conduit of fire, it is She and water that tame me. For meditation I envision myself lying on a beach and allow the waves and the tides to slowly pull bit by bit of me beneath the surface, as if I were made of sand.
TL;DR, the sea is a major part of me.
We stationed ourselves in a little cove at the south end of the beach, shaded by trees and shielded from the rising tide by driftwood and broken up concrete (placed there for erosion control, I guess). Shells and stones of all kinds washed up in the shallows and the shore, and I gathered quite a collection. I also tried to catch a minnow, but they were too fast for me. ):
In any case, I brought home my stash and lay it all on my bed, wondering what to do with it all! I had feathers, shells, clear and smoky quartz, driftwood. These were the preferred spiritual objects of my patron, but I had no real experience with any of them. Lucky for me, my thin man was happy to oblige me with a few of his suggestions. This article contains uses for sea shells, driftwood, feathers, and stones. I am leaving out a section for sea water, as its uses generally coincide with the uses for any other type of blessed water.
Advice is under the cut!
